This session provided background on the Medicaid Drug Rebate Program (MDRP), publicly available information on the Most Favored Nation (MFN) drug pricing framework, and recently introduced Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation (CMMI) models related to drug price negotiation in the Medicaid program. Staff provided an overview of upcoming work to inform the Commission on how the MFN framework and CMMI models affect drug pricing and coverage in Medicaid in relation to the existing requirements of the MDRP.
