In the report accompanying the fiscal year 2019 Labor, Health and Human Services, and Education funding bill, the House Committee on Appropriations requested that MACPAC examine the advantages of a universal definition of therapeutic foster care. This presentation describes the draft chapter that will serve as MACPAC’s response to this congressional request. It begins with an overview of therapeutic foster care and Medicaid coverage of therapeutic foster care services. It then reviews some considerations for a uniform definition before describing potential Commission responses.
