The SUPPORT for Patients and Communities Act (P.L. 115-271), required MACPAC to conduct a study of state Medicaid utilization control policies for medication-assisted treatment (MAT) that may hinder or promote access to clinically appropriate treatment of substance use disorders. This presentation provides the initial findings from MACPAC’s analysis—to be published in October—of utilization control policies for MAT in eight selected states and discusses how they may affect access to treatment.
